Falling into the Green Abyss for guitar solo is my suite written in 2013 after a painting by Italian artist Giulio Aristide Sartorio (1862).
The subject is an eternal motif of catabasis - in this case going deep inside the abyss of green water to save a beloved mermaid. Sartorio was deeply impressed by the Green Grotto of Italian island of Capri and pictures this marvel here.
The suite has 6 movements though sometimes I perform only 3 of them.
